Madison Heights, lichen and mushroom. 

Young gray spore, in water, at 1000x. Close-up so the apothecia can actually be seen. The tree that it's on.  You can't actually see it here  it would be on the bottom in the slightly paler part. 

Buellia punctata [] [voucher] 

Base of Mexican fan palm (Washingtonia robusta) on west side of Euclid a few houses north of Fillmore.  Absolutely covering the base of the north side of the tree.  Amazing.

Lactarius alnicola [voucher] 

Same place as last time (20071015).
