Pasadena area, fungi.

Little bike ride up to Inverness and back.

Beautiful fresh yellow blob. Beautiful fresh yellow blobs.

Fuligo septica []

These were nice and fresh and still yellow, on lawn on east side of San Rafael somewhere between Loma and Colorado.

Lepiota lutea []

Quite a large lovely fruiting, been going on for days, under a little...  I forget on Dartmouth or Chatham Place off of Hillcrest Av in La Canada, on right side of street close to the cul de sac.  Also present were some earthballs and an unknown viscid reddish-brown little thing.

Laetiporus gilbertsonii []

Found several more, some on Howard and Kenilworth, some on Sunset near Claremont or Hammond (maybe?), and by the courthouse, all in Pasadena.  Still reliable: wherever a large number of old carobs grow, something like 1 out of 4 to 6 are host to this fungus.  Some fruiting bodies are still very young, so t could potentially be more common.  For example, an additional tree on Ontario is just starting to grow a new fruiting body where there was none a week or so ago.

One at base of brick wall, close. Several at base of brick wall, closer. Several at base of brick wall!

Ganoderma lucidum []

Found a line of these growing along the base of  yes  a brick wall, on Berkshire (I think) in La Canada, presumably near Beulah.
