Over to other side of Hemp Creek, past falls, down to river bottom, then back. What a lovely walk! 

Flowers 

Actaea rubra [] 

Starting to flower. 
 GEN 10 small petals, many stamens, superior ov with 1 chamb (though scored to look 2-chambered), many ovules, two-part sess stigma, dense white term raceme

Amelanchier florida [] 

Full glorious bloom all over, esp top of phyllite (phyllinite?)slopes above Hemp Creek canyon.  Going on Curtis's suggestion since I haven't picked one yet.

Arnica cordifolia cordifolia [] 

 GEN leaves opp, broadly ov, strongly cordate (upper wing-petioled), coarsely but weakly serrate, invol 15x10mm w long hairs and gland-hairs, petals showy yellow, pappus snow white and subplumose

Castilleja miniata [] 

First one in bloom. 
 GEN tall robust plant, weakly shaggy hairy all over, leaves simple, bracts with one pair of weak lobes, red, galea 15mm, tube 20mm, puberulent on back, calyx equally divided ~15mm front and back with side-divisions 8-10mm, some glandular hairs on calyx and quite wooly at base of flowers

Disporum hookeri [] 

Full glorious bloom all over. 
 GEN larger plant with hairy ovary and distinctly forward-pointing cilia and hairs, and sparsely hairy above

Fragaria vesca [] 

Full bloom all over.

Fragaria virginiana [] 

Full bloom all over.

Lonicera involucrata involucrata [] 

Now in bloom all over damp areas.

Lysichitum americanum [] 

Fully leafed out, flowers still in full force.

Ranunculus occidentalis [] 

First one I saw in bloom. 
 GEN leaves fully divided once, deeply divided a second time, no stolon, leafy stem, 5 showy petals, short nectary scale with free marg, glab ovaries (glab frs?)

Smilacina racemosa [] 

Just starting to come into full bloom along river.

Viola adunca [] 

Full bloom all over dry areas esp grassy southern hills and bluffs.


Fungi 

Morchella elata (Some old spots fruiting again.) []

Agrocybe praecox [] 

A couple.
 GEN softer, yellower, farinaceous taste, smaller, better ring

Mycena [] 

The usual brown jobby, always in groups of several, on hardwood.

Xeromphalina campanella [] 

Often crowded, on mossy rotten log, rarely fresh.

Lichenomphalia umbellifera [] 

Never very many, though occasionally 6-12, always on wet very mossy rotten log.

Nolanea [] 

Rather old, so didn't collect it. 
 GEN small, pale buff, umbo, bell, several in loose group in sand by trail
