WGWI east, fungi. 

Walk cross-country to Battle Creek Road and back.  Lots of morels, but little else still.  Sigh.

Okay, I'm positive I'm seeing two different species now.  The less common one differs in the following ways: thinner softer more fragile flesh, narrower straighter finer ridges, redder color, marg of cap much less bent in to almost continuous with stalk, cap shaped more conic and always distinctly sharp-pointed, odor always significantly stronger (other is mild to odorless).

GEN

small to medium mushroom, on side of road in grass at edge of aspen-conifer forest, mild nutty or walnut-like odor

ST

50x7mm, pale buff, brown from spore residue on top (leaning), no sign of veil (but see cap with remnants on marg), ~15mm globose bulb at base with a few small rhizomorphs holding dirt on it, snaps sharply but stiff and fibrous, not bending at all, solid or stuffed with white flesh in center third, flesh buff and watery

CAP

50mm wide, convex, split ~3-5mm around edge, veil remnants hanging from marg, dry and smooth but with dirt adhering to one side so maybe viscid when wet but no sign of it when remoistened, pale honey-buff to brown near marg

FLESH

firm, solid, whitish, 3-4mm thick, stiff but breaking readily

GILL

close, v thin, adnexed, dirty medium brown

SPORE

print rich choc brown, smooth, ellip, brown, featureless, v slightly truncate at one end,~8x5um, sticking in dry towering masses
