Paraphyses, at 400x, in water. Section of hymenium, at 100x, in water. Beautiful dark one, side view. Side-view of beautiful one, badly overexposed behind. Top view of nice one in haircap moss. Two nice ones knocked over. Little one with young plant. Ugly one. Nice little one. 

Gyromitra esculenta [] 

Found scattered on ground in great numbers, clearly associated with aspen, in low area near that clearing going north from EB, not far from where the Octospora was found. 
 GEN mushroom, on ground, near aspen, low area not very dry
 ST smooth, grooved, hollow inside, fragile
 CAP highly irreg brain-like wrinkled thing, v dark to med purplish/pinkish ro deep maroon-black, fragile, hollow
 SPORE ellip, smooth, 1 cell, 18-20x10um, two little consistent oil drops at either end
