Edgewood Blue, two crust lichens. 

Curtis brought these back from the "pucker" swamp.

Beautiful 2-celled spore, at 400x, in water.  This thing is 175x55um big with walls alone 10um thick (they can get up to 25um thick). Ascus and exciple, at 400x, in water. Apo section, at 100x, in water. Thallus, at 10x, natural light. 

Varicellaria rhodocarpa [] [voucher] 

 GEN crust lichen, on conifer twig
 THAL intensely verrucose, surface of verrucae rough, whitish
 MED white
 ALG green
 APO buried in verrucae
 SPORE 1 per ascus, 2 cell, thick walled, v finely roughened/textured, up to 180um long, walls to 12um (and apparently more)

Spore, at 1000x, in K. Spores, at 1000x, in K. Apo section, at 100x, immature? Apo section, at 400x, immature. Apo section, at 100x, immature. Thallus, at 10x. 

Pertusaria subambigens [] [voucher] 

 GEN crust lichhen, on conifer twig
 THAL smooth, thin, shiny, med gray
 MED white
 ALG green
 APO disks, pale pinkish turning pruinose white in age, thalline rim tattered and disintegrating in age
 SPORE 8 per ascus, small, ellip, 15x10um, 1um walls, smooth, textured stuff inside, 14-19x8.2-11um (Q=1.4-1.7) (N=5), walls 1.1-1.4um (N=3)
