Hypogymnia physodes [] [voucher] 

Letharia vulpina [] 

Asci and spores, at 1000x, in IKI. Ascus and spore, at 1000x, in IKI. Immature spores, at 1000x, in water. Apothecia, at 400x, in water. Stalks, at 30x.  Stack of 3 shots. 

Calicium abietinum [] [voucher] 

 GEN calicioid, on topside of well-weathered dry log, raised and not rotting, probably conifer
 THAL immersed completely
 APO shiny black all over, thin tall stalk, hemi-glob cap, thick powdery black spore mass w some white dust among the spores, stalk dk brown with hyal skin in water squash, all parts profoundly I-except asci turning lt rusty brownish, asci up to 53+/-4x5.2+/-0.5um and tubular
 SPORE not very textured at most coarse low warts, becoming constricted late in maturity, in single row in ascus, (8.9)11.2+/-1.4(15.0)x(4.3)5.9+/-0.9(7.8)um Q=(1.5)1.9+/-0.3(2.5) (n=21) but these are clearly not all mature
Source: Nordic Lichen Flora Vol. 1, 1999. Curtis concurs. C. glaucellum has slightly smaller spores than C. abietinum but also has shorter asci and the spores have ridges, which I did not see. Spores: C. a. 13-15x5-7um, C. g. 9-13x5-7um.  Asci: C. a. 49-60x4-5um, C. g. 35-41x3.5-4.5um.

Usnea scabrata [] [voucher] 

 THAL pendent, long, v d pap, black at v base, cracks near base, isidia abundant but scattered throughout

Usnea lapponica [] [voucher] 

 THAL bushy/subpendent, short, black at base, smooth main stem but some sparse pap elsewhere, sl inflated, soralia large and encircling brs
