Pleurotus keys-creamy-spored [] [voucher] 

 GEN small gilled shelf, on downed rotting hardwood log (impossible to ID)
 ST none or v stubby lat
 CAP ~30mm wide, fan-shaped, whitish to pale brownish, smooth, dull, funnel-shaped, marg gracefully curled under
 FLESH whitish, less than 1mm, fragile
 GILL whitish, decur, close, clean, 3mm deep
 SPORE print pale creamy brownish  is that white or brown?? 
Assumed this was a small oyster, but the spore color of the oyster is distinctive; this is not pinkish at all. But on the other hand it's not exactly brown either...

Pycnoporus sanguineus [] [voucher] 

Small ugly one on fallen unidentifiable hardwood stick.  Unmistakable.

Perfectly fresh one, front view. Nice shady one, quarter view. Nice shady one, underside. Nice cluster in sun, side view. A bunch on the base of a relatively old tree.  This tree is perfectly alive still, maybe not \

Phellinus strongbark [] [voucher] 

 GEN small shelf fungi, clustered on living bahama strongbark (Bourreria succulenta), K? 
 CAP 20-40mm wide, hoof-shaped, rich yellowish to rusty brown, dry, velvety, not zoned, v pitted and irreg surface
 FLESH tough, same color and texture as surface, 5-10mm thick
 PORE vivid lustrous yellowish brown or ochre, much smoother than upper surface, ~6 per mm, 1-2mm deep
 SPORE print appears to be whitish (but faint)

 GEN small shelf fungus, on downed rotting hardwood log, K? 
 CAP 15mm wide, white, faintly zoned by texture and ridges but not by color, v faintly and minutely but distinctly soft felty
 FLESH ochre, ~1mm thick, firm and tough but gives a little like hard rubber
 PORE white, beautifully packed, walls thicker than pin-prick holes, about 5 per mm, up to about 5mm deep(!), flesh of pores yellowish, well defined 1mm raised sterile marg
 SPORE failed to get print

zoned shelf [voucher] 

 GEN small polypore, on downed rotting small hardwood log, K? 
 ST nearly lateral, just a constricted point below cap where it attaches, same color as cap
 CAP 30-50mm wide, kidney to fan-shaped, zoned whitish to gray to brown to yellowish, distinct rusty-ochre stains around margin (entire surface is this color when damp), surface fairly flat-topped to sl depressed above stem
 FLESH tough and rigid, 2-3mm thick, whitish to ochre-ish
 PORE whitish to ochre near marg, walls thicker than pores, irreg packed, 4-5 per mm, ~1.5mm deep, flesh same color as surface
 SPORE print whitish

Hexagoina hydnoides [] [voucher] 

 GEN large shelf fungus, on long-dead ficus root, K? 
 ST lateral if at all
 CAP 80mm wide, sticks out 60mm, fan-shaped to semi-circ, fairly flat on top with sl depression to attachment and margins somewhat convex, faintly broadly zoned but obscured, v d black bristly, hairs twisty and somewhat tufted to 5mm or more long
 FLESH brown, 2mm thick, v tough and rigid
 PORE smoky brown, smooth to somewhat undulating, 1mm thin ragged ster marg, darker brown inside marg, 4 per mm, to 3mm deep, flesh = surface
 SPORE too long dead

Auricularia auricula [] [voucher] 

 GEN small cup fungi, under small hardwood limb (impossible to ID)
 ST central and v short if at all
 CAP 5-25mm wide, broadly cup-shaped, opening downward, tan to brown oustide, d soft short velvety, context darker than hairs
 FLESH v thin (~0.1-0.2mm thick), v tough and rigid
 PORE fertile surface smooth, dark vinaceous-gray-brown, lightening in places to almost pinkish, faint whitish bloom or cast to it
 SPORE failed to get print

Geastrum [] 

 GEN small earthstar, on small fallen stopper (1-2" thick and bark still on), surrounded by copious white stain from mycelium
 ST v short
 CAP 6-8mm wide, round, tapering at bottom to pt of attachment
outside skin roughened, creamy whitish to brownish outside, splitting into 5 neat spreading segments when moist, rays ~6x4mm, dull brown and smooth inside with whitish bloom
inside ball 1-2mm smaller, lt brown, pucker at tip with small well-defined pore, whitish around pore (v minute tomentum?), flabby and soft
 SPORE print dark smoky brown, mass is v diffuse and cottony
Darvin insists this is Geastrum, not Astraeus hygrometricus or its cousin (only two species of A.).
