CabinCove, fungi. 

Autumn goldenrod field at CabinCove. Autumn colors and 1850's cabin at CabinCove. 

These fungi were all on moist rotting logs at the foot of the hill between house and Mary Wanda.  Random fall foliage and scenery on road to Mary Wanda.

Mycena [] 

 GEN small mushroom, single, on rotting hemlock
 ST 80x1mm or thinner, brownish, flexible and not stiff but not breaking, white long thin hairy along most of length
 CAP 15x12mm, conical, dull brown, smooth to v min hoary-fibrillose, translucent striate, marg not curled in
 FLESH v thin, pale brownish
 VEIL none
 GILL pale brown, att, rel dist, 2mm deep
 SPORE pending

Chlorociboria aeruginascens [] [voucher] 

 GEN small disk mushroom, scattered all over log in sheltered spots, distinctive emerald green stain in wood all around them
 ST 1-2mm, central to v off-center
 CAP 1-10mm, cup to ear or fan, thin, blue-green, paler below, smooth
 FLESH same as cap

Dacrymyces palmatus [] 

 GEN small jelly fungus, on downed rotting hemlock limb
 CAP ruffled, lobes on the order of ~5mm, rounded, yellow-orange, uniform color except white mycelia near and around base, smooth

Nice grouping of old fruits. 

Lycogala epidendrum [] [voucher] 

 GEN slime mold, crowded, on rotting hemlock log among moss
 CAP 4-8mm, round, dk brown-gray, matte-shiny
 SPORE pinkish dry spore mass inside balls

Bisporella citrina [] [voucher] 

 GEN tiny disk fungus, scattered in great numbers but not crowded, rarely contorting due to pressing against one another, on dead rotting oak log
 ST sentral, v short, expanding smoothly into disk, whitish to pale yellow, smooth
 CAP 0.3-2.0mm, round, disk, vivid golden, v sl concave, uniform, smooth, even

Light scattering among the moss. Another beautiful scattered group. Beautiful scattered group. Large hemlock log just covered with it. 

minute yellow translucent disk [voucher] 

 GEN small disk/jelly fungus, crowded in large masses, all over rotting hemlock among moss
 ST none visible
 CAP 1-8mm wide, contorted considerably but clearly disk-like, semi-translucent pale yellow, even color, smooth, margin rounded and thick (rel to size of disks), underside seems to be same
These disks became confluent upon drying.

minute yellow parchment disk [voucher] 

 GEN small disk/parchement fungus, v crowded covering large areas, all over underside of rotting hemlock log
 ST none visible
 CAP golden to yellow-orange, oranger toward center of disks, 2-8mm wide, convex, confluent, white min tomentose marg and underside (like a prothallus), smooth above
These also became featureless and confluent upon drying.

First year's growth on side mossy hemlock log. 

Cladonia [] 

This is on the log just past where the trail at the foot of the hill crosses Phillip's spring.  I hope to take pictures of this in future years to show successive growth.  That is, unless storms damage it.
