Madison Heights, mushroom. 

Young one slide in half, just breaking veil.  Stains visible. Two buttons breaking through soil. Young dirty one, quarter view. 

Agaricus xanthodermus [] 

From planter above sidewalk just S of California on W side of Euclid.  In hard bare dirt under mixed ornamental trees.  Thought they were Agaricus bitorquis due to developing underground, but stain clearly and immediately deep yellow.
 SPORE print choc brown, ellip, smooth, 1 bubble, 5.1-6.4x3.3-3.9um

Trametes hirsuta-group [] 

On El Molino, going down hill south of Glenarm, on E side, at base of ancient gnarly jacaranda.  Well peed-upon judging by the foul odor permeating my dining room the morning after  ugh! 
 GEN shelf mushroom, growing on roots and base of old jacaranda, several caps confluent in rosettes
 CAP to 90mm wide, d velvety, zoned tan to brown, v rigid, up to 5mm thick or so, K-, algae-covered in older parts
 PORE buff, min
 SPORE yeah right
