Boletus subtomentosus [] 

Fillmore between Euclid and Los Robles, under oak just to east of alley on north side. 
 GEN med mushroom, clust of three under oak
 ST to 20x7mm, taper at bot, smooth ab to min scurfy bel, finely vert striate, yell at v top to reddish/brownish/yellish bel, fairly dk, solid
 CAP 30-40mm wide, convex, smooth to deeply cracked, med to lt brown w some pink areas, pale yellish to pinkish to brownish inside cracks
 FLESH yell, not bruising, 2-3mm thick, firm
 GILL pores, 5mm long, 1mm wide, brownish-yell, bruising dk and bluish
 SPORE print brown, nearly clear, ellip-oblong, 10-12x3-5um

(20070926) I've reconsidered the ID in light of feedback via mushroomobserver.org.  The red on the stalk appears to be my problem  it seems to be a red herring... er, so to speak.  See also 20070926.
