Just pix of a few random things around house, including pix of spores of a mushroom so that I could have Diane teach me how to get the darned microscope adjusted better. Turns out it's not possible to focus and center the aperature of the condenser correctly, presumably leading at least partially to my dislike of the 1000x objective.




Lentinus detonsus []
In leaf litter under hardwood hammock in front of bldgs on island (not bay side). It rained last (for real) several days ago. In full perfect fruit.

| | CAP | | 50mm wide, smooth, pale whitish to tannish esp at sl umbo ctr, sl striate around edge, smooth to sl tacky feel, soft and pliable but thin flesh, sharp unpleasant but faint odor esp when dry |
| | GILL | | deeply notched and pulling away from cobwebby stalk, white to creamy to even sl pinkish inside in age, not perfectly straight and clean, 1 per mm, tissue sl divergent |
| | SPORE | | print white, round, rather mottled-looking but essentially smooth, 2 per basidium?, colorless, knobbed, 6-7um round, sticks in dry towering masses |
