Madison Heights, mostly fungi.

Several day-old buttons, in lawn. Gills of young and older mushrooms.  Left one (showing pinkish gills and faint ring zone) is about 1 day old; right one (showing typical chocolate gills and almost completely lacking sign of ring) is about 2 days old. Intact cap, about 1 day old. Split cap, about 2 days old.

Agaricus "shiny small smooth" []

Fillmore, S side, between alley on W and Marengo on E.

Close-up of one branch, in fl.  Shows ovaries, glands, and lvs. Large healthy mat, in middle of someone's driveway.

Chamaesyce maculata []

Magnolia, E side, halfway between Fillmore and Alpine.

Gills of fully open mushroom.  See how the gills show not even a hint of green yet  that happens after the mushroom has already started to shrivel in my experience. Fresh fully-deployed cap, probably 2 days old. Two young ones: cap, ring, gills. Two young buttons, just starting to crack. Three old buttons, already scaly.

Chlorophyllum molybdites []

Magnolia, E side, 2 houses S of Fillmore.

Dried up mushroom, in lawn.  Taken at midday on a hot sunny day.  By evening it was so shrivelled it was nearly impossible to find.

Conocybe lactea []

Fillmore, S side, between alley on W and Marengo on E.  Photo taken at 1pm, sunny all morning, fairly hot.  (ID on 20070802.)
