Coreopsis major []

All over the place in full flower.  Why aren't there any on ours?

Eutrochium purpureum purpureum []

LF in whorls of 3, 135x45+20mm, acum-acute, wedge to sl atten ("acum") base, v coarsely biserr, 1-2-veins v r bel and d hispid, v sp hispid ab, feels conspic rough bel
Either E. maculatum or E. purpureum, probably latter because of subdued stature  compared to the enormous E. fistulosum or E. maculatum! Also RA&B claims the petioles of E. maculatum are "obscured by decurrent blade", which this specimen def is not.  I'm using Weakley's taxonomy.  (It doesn't distinguish between the two species given my data, either.)

Euphorbia corollata []

All over the place in full beautiful flower.

Spores, at 400x.  Marks are 2.5um.

Boletus fagicola []

On upper logging road.
GEN med-large mushroom, on old road in mixed forest, bolete, mild odor
ST pale, sl streaked or patterend w fine brown lines but smooth, 60x20mm or so (guessing given fragment I took)
CAP 100mm, convex, dry, smooth, not tacky or slick, lt to med brown, min wrinkled, even color, sl shiny, white fuzz near base
FLESH pale, 10-15mm thick, firm, spongy, dry, toughish, blueing at first but fading back to pale later
PORE 10-12mm long, dk yellish brown, 2-2.5 per mm, blueing conspic at first but fading, adnate to v sl decur
SPORE print buff, 10-12.5x2.5-3.5um, narr football, faint brownish, smooth, 1 cell, few large bubbles inside or something, sticking dry rafts to masses
Keys to this group in Arora, but no description.  Could also be B. vermiculosus et al if the pores are redder than I think they are.

Spores, at 400x.  Marks are 2.5um.  (These might be contaminants from another mushroom?)Pretty but enigmatic specimen, underside. Pretty but enigmatic specimen, side view.

Leptonia zanthophylla? []

Bottom of TT, under hemlocks; handsome fungus!
 GEN small-med mushroom, under conifers
ST 60x10-12mm, sl thicker bel, same colors present w d coating of black fibrillose esp bel but much less on top (allowing yells and oranges to show through), colored like gills at v top, brittle, hollow, flesh pallid but staining black
CAP 35mm, conic, dry, d shiny black fibrillose over red or orange base, marg curled under and sl ragged
FLESH 2mm, greyish yellowish orangish blackish (take your pick!)
GILL pale w orange and yell (conspic) near outside and marg, staining black, thick and waxy, marg sl erose, contorted but could be around 1 per mm, adnexed
SPORE print lilac? (pale at any rate), oblong, smooth, sl constricted, sticks wetly, v weakly textured like frosted glass, 10-12.5x5um
Tried to make it a Hygrophorus conicus for the longest time, but upon seeing an Entolomataceae on 20060724 it became clear this must be some sort of Leptonia.

Two dirty old ones, side/bottom view. Two dirty old ones, top view. Dirty old one, top view. Half a fairy-ring under an eastern white pine. Spores, at 400x.  Marks are 2.5um.

CAP 55mm, flat to sl convex to v sl umbo, vivid pale yell, tacky, shiny, smooth, conspic tiny deep red gland spotted, v marg turned up a bit
FLESH 5-10mm, pale yell, bruising sl brownish at margs, not fragile, firm, soft
PORE 1.5-2 per mm but often elongated radially and lined up in radiating rows, to 1.2mm at longest, 5mm long, irreg-shaped, golden ochre brownish, sl decur
