Mushrooms

Spores, at 400x.  Marks are 2.5um. Gills.  I tore the gills away from stalk accidentally  they are not free! Several yellow ones.

Cantharellus minor

Just before leaving old overgrown field.
GEN tiny mushroom, v loosely clusters of 2 or 3, on mossy ground in mixed forest
ST 20x2mm, not v straight, dker than cap, smooth to fibrillose, solid
CAP to 10mm wide, v irreg bell to conic, top broadly rounded, apricot yell-orange, smooth
 FLESH pale
GILL v shall, veiny, dker than cap, well spaced, thick, long decur
SPORE print pale yell, colorless, ellip to obov, apic or min knobbed, smooth, 1 cell, 7-7.5x4.5-5um, sticking together in irreg clumps, "wet"

Nice little colony, on big rotting log.

Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa flexuosa []

On rotting wood above elderberry spring on Mary-Wanda.

Spores, at 400x.  Marks are 2.5um. Cute little guy, side view.  Shows fuzzy stem well.

Collybia "tawny twig end"

On lower part of Ridge Runner under rhododendrons.
GEN tiny mushroom, on end of rotting hardwood limb, under rhododendron, v shady moist spot on slope, revives
ST 40x1-1.5mm, taper upward, lt creamy tan, straight, d wh tom to long tufted bel (to 1mm long)
CAP 13-14mm wide, convex, tan, brown fibrillose, dker edge, marg min curled under
GILL creamy, shall, free, 1.5 per mm, unbr, white dusting spores visible at 30x
SPORE print snow white, narr ellip, smooth, colorless, 1 cell, apic?, 6-7x2.5-3.5um
Lack of striations and ability to revive imply Marasmius or Collybia.  It seems in Arora that hairy stem means the latter on average.  I've seen this kind before, so I'm christening a name for it.

Spores, at 400x.  Marks are 2.5um. Close-up of a beautiful set on a grape vine. Beautiful set covering a rotting grape vine.

Marasmius prasiosmus? []

On lower part of Ridge Runner in open hemlock forest.
GEN tiny slustered mushrooms, on rotting grape vine
ST to 15x1mm, curling gracefully and irreg to erect like snakes, constrict at v bot, tan, finely white tom, white at v base, garlic odor, revives
CAP 7+mm, convex to flat, often dented in ctr, tan but lter in ctr and marg, fibrillose? (weird texture), marg curled in when young
GILL 2-3 per mm, wavy, lt tan, att to decur, br'd
SPORE print snow white, colorless, ellip, smooth, 1 cell, tends to be narrower at one end, 4.5-5.5x1.9-2.8um
Must be strong to notice the garlic odor from something that tiny  and even after reviving it in water!  Keys to M. copelandii in Arora but spores are way too small.  I have to guess M. prasiosmus just because he says it has the smalled spores, even though he gives no details for it, and even questions whether it occurs in NAmer!

Spore, at 400x.  Marks are 2.5um. Whole mushroom, at 10x. Cap and st, side view, at 30x.

Mycena "teeny tiny on bark"

Maple on right near start of Mary-Wanda.
GEN tiny mushroom, on living maple bark at chest-height
ST 5x0.5mm, color and texture of cap
CAP 1x1.5mm, purplish brown, bell, marg curled in, min white puber
GILL same color as cap, few white spores visible at 30x
SPORE print pale, colorless, ellip, smooth, 1 cell, no texture or "stuff" inside, 8.5x5.5um, no knob or pore
Only found a single spore(!) for "print".  Keys out convincingly in Mycena... to a large group Arora includes under M. capillaris.  I have hereby christened them M. teeny-tiny.  So there.

Spores, at 400x.  Marks are 2.5um. Close-up of pretty gills, at 30x. Two pretty little things, in leaves.

Mycena "teeny tiny in leaves"

On lower part of Ridge Runner under rhododendrons.
GEN tiny mushroom, on soil, under rhododendron, v shady moist spot on slope
ST twisty thread, 50x0.5mm, tough wiry, dkish sl vinaceous brown, smooth
CAP 3mm, flat to v sl convex, v translucent striate, sl plicate, lt tan to dk brown in center to whitish right at marg, sl vinaceous hue, smooth
GILL dk brown, v sl decur, abundant white cistidia or spores visible at 30x, 2 per mm, unbr
SPORE print pale greyish-yellowish?, ellip, colorless, "stuff" inside, not fully smooth, 1 cell, 6-8x4-5um
Yeah, didn't really expect to find it in my books.

Spores, at 400x.  Marks are 2.5um. Cap and gills, at 30x.  Marks are mm.

Panus "teeny tiny"

On lower part of Ridge Runner under rhododendrons.
GEN tiny shelf mushroom, on rotting rhododendron
ST lat stubby, tan tom like cap
CAP 4mm wide, round to wider than deep, even d tan tom (some dker than others), marg curled under
GILL beautiful deep brown, unbr, dist, shallow, decur
 SPORE print whitish, greenish w thicker side-walls, ellip-cyl, smooth, 1 cell, 9-11x5-6um

I could've sworn this was a Sonchus because of the constricted invol above, but Crepis matches batter (I could never convince myself the frs were flattened, just sl comp but essentially terete).

Achene and pappus, at 10x. Achene body, at 30x.

Having trouble finding spores.  I thought I did: v thick-walled round 1-celled colorless things 15-20um wide, but this leads me to Ochrolechia or Pertusaria  the first doesn't seem to have any species with the obvious K+ yell reaction; the second has spores way too large and just looks way wrong.  Ignoring spores I'm led to: Loxospora ochrophaea (apo margin not ragged though), Lecania (doesn't key to species, but could theoretically be one of the ones with atranorin>, Lecanora allophana and L. hybocarpa.  Of the latter two, the former looks closest.  There are lots and lots of immature asci, but only a few possible spore-sightings.  What the hell are those "fish-eggs"??
