Amanita flavoconia [] 

In leaf litter below trail under mountain laurel and oak in open dry forest.
 GEN med-large mushroom, under hardwoods
 ST golden orangish yell like cap, min scurfy mostly, smooth oranger striate skirt-like ring near top w rather even but min serr edge, large flaking scales bel exposing white flesh, bulbous whitish base, volva v indistinct
 CAP convex, round, vivid striking orange to golden yell at marg, not striate, perfectly even and smooth to v sl fibrillose, yell cottony thick small patches scattered, v sl ragged partial veil remnants hanging from margin
 GILL free, whitish, straight and clean

Aquilegia canadensis 

Several in fl; v early on.  Only game in town.  Had to get a picture, but didn't have time to set up tall tripod, so had to do ASA400 and large aperature and still blurred it.

Several in full fl in open area on slope early on.

Catharus fuscenscens[MISSING PHOTO]  

Heard him in dark rhododendron forest past halfway. 
 VOICE rapidly rising and falling twice, "ethereal" stepped scales, reminiscent of wood thrush

Apo, at 30x. Branch of podetia, at 30x.  Shows split. Cortex of podetia, at 30x. Podetia, at 10x.  Note split brs. 

Cladonia multiformis [voucher] 

On shady mossy rock beside trail just before it heads steeply downhill; growing with C. uncialis
 GEN fruticose lichen, cladonia, on mossy rock
 THAL v well br'd, grey-green, br'ing irreg and intricate and dense, podetia split wide open all over near tips esp, squamules scattered sparsely all over, no primary squamules left at all, cortex rough and v broken up
 MED white, continuous and smooth
 APO big brown balls at ends of brand tips, to 1mm rarely to 2mm
Should do chemistry but seems little point: it keys out so convincingly, and matches the picture of the "cupless form" so well.

Lobaria pulmonaria [voucher] 

Several nice patches on trees near path past halfway.

 THAL broad lobes, shiny smooth olive green, raised retic ridges and broad pits all over, v loosely att, whitish to tan to brown tom bel w broad ellip white sl raised bald spots all over, lobes ascend irreg, marg d but thinly lined w white continuous soralia, soralia d sorediate and also fairly short isidiate, lobe tips squarish, can't find any cephalodia

Budding?  Leafs w a distinctive white tip.

In flower; verified leaf width to make sure I've been getting it right.

Vaccinium corymbosum 

Just leaf.

Pedicularis canadensis 

Just dry fruits leaf.  Same thing we saw on top of AT on Snowbird.
