CabinCove, MM, mostly fungi.

Collybia fuscopurpurea-group?
On rotting twigs, on ridge to right of far end of Misty Mellow.
| | GEN | | medium size mushroom on rotting hardwood stick, scattered |
| | ST | | 30x4mm outside wood, about 25mm inside wood, hollow at v center, dk flesh esp near outside, surface rich ochre scurfy |
| | CAP | | round, flat to concave, wavy marg, smooth, golden ochre-yellow at marg to rich deep golden brown in center, striate marg, to 40mm wide |
Ah, I feel more confident about it this time around.

Marasmius epiphyllus?
On dead Rhododendron leaf near side of Misty Mellow spring.
| | GEN | | v delicate mushroom, scattered on dead leaves and dead tiny twigs |
| | ST | | 25x0.3mm, perfectly erect and straight, lt brown ab to med brown at foot, smooth |
| | CAP | | round, convex, 9mm wide, white outside to tan or lt brown inside, somewhat radially wrinkled, marg entire, flesh v thin, smooth, st v sl off-center |
| | GILL | | adnate, dist, well br, white to sl brownish esp near st |
No question of genus; and
Arora places it firmly in the
Marasmiellus candidus group, in which both
M. epiphyllus and
M. delectans seem plausible, but for which so little information is given I can hardly be confident of any choice.

Marasmius rotula
On rotting twig, on ridge to right of far end of Misty Mellow. Distinctive plicate white delicate round mushroom cap balancing atop a black shin filiform stem.

Merulius corium?
On rotting twig, across Misty Mellow spring.
| | GEN | | resupinate mushroom on dead hardwood twig, scattered to joining into long shelves, mostly under stick but sticking out shelf-like in long rows at margins |
| | CAP | | white to cream-brownish, shelf-like, somewhat white-scurfy, up to 10mm or so wide but att along rather longer length of twig |
| | PORE | | maze-like, white to lt brownish, up to 2mm long, 3-4 per mm, walls becoming erose or torn making it look almost tooth-like |
Spore surface seems too white to match
Arora's description of
M. tremellosus;
Lincoff suggests
M. corium because it has smaller pores but gives no other information.
Oxalis grandis
Elrose brought me a plant not in flower from a hike in the Smokies (don't know where exactly).
| | GEN | | herb, slender rhiz, erect |
| | ST | | sp pubesc av, reddish bel |
| | LF | | alt, palm| lflt | | 3, obcord, 16-20x20-28+0mm | petiole 40-50mm, purplish cast bel on some, marg purplish, much lter bel, somewhat pubesc bel midv and on pet (top and bot at least) along marg (near base of lflts at least) |
